The invention relates to sorting drums with a perforated side surface of the shell and is intended primarily for sorting coarsely fluffed, contaminated fiber suspension from waste paper. The purpose of the invention is to improve the quality of the purified suspension and reduce fiber loss. The drawing schematically shows a sorting drum, a longitudinal section. The sorting drum contains a horizontally-mounted rotatably shell 1, made on its side surface with perforated holes for draining the cleaned slurry arranged in two zones 2 and 3 arranged in series. The perforations of the first zone 2 adjacent to the suspension inlet 4, located on one end of the drum, have a diameter of 7-12.5 mm, and the holes of the second zone 35 adjacent to the outlet 5 to release sorting waste located on the other end of the drum, have a diameter of 10 - 30 mm.
